KWLE / Wynyard Aesthetics Academy Diploma in Laser Education
The KWLE / Wynyard Aesthetics Academy Diploma in Laser Education provides a comprehensive pathway for practitioners who want to develop advanced knowledge and professional expertise in aesthetic laser practice.
This structured programme covers the core scientific principles of lasers, alongside clinical applications including laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, vascular treatments, tattoo removal and fractional laser technologies.
All programmes are delivered fully online, allowing practitioners to study flexibly while continuing their professional practice.
Upon completion, practitioners will have developed a strong understanding of laser-tissue interaction, treatment planning, patient safety and advanced laser applications.
Diploma Structure
The full diploma includes six laser education modules, progressing from foundational knowledge through to advanced laser applications.
Level 4 Core of Knowledge – Laser & Light Technologies (60 CPD/CME points)
This module provides the essential scientific foundation required for safe laser practice.
Students explore:
- Laser physics and light-based technologies
• Tissue interaction and selective photothermolysis
• Laser safety and risk management
• Patient assessment and contraindications
• Clinical governance and safe treatment protocols
This module forms the scientific basis for all aesthetic laser treatments.
Level 4 Laser Hair Removal (60 CPD/CME points)
This course focuses on the principles and safe delivery of laser and IPL hair removal treatments.
Students learn:
- Hair growth cycles and treatment timing
• Laser parameters and treatment protocols
• Skin typing and patient suitability
• Treatment planning and expected outcomes
• Managing risks and complications
Laser hair removal remains one of the most widely performed aesthetic laser procedures, making this an essential component of professional laser education.
Level 4 Laser Skin Rejuvenation (60 CPD/CME points)
This module introduces laser and light-based treatments used for skin rejuvenation and aesthetic skin improvement.
Topics include:
- Laser and IPL technologies used for rejuvenation
• Collagen stimulation and tissue response
• Treatment planning for pigmentation and skin tone
• Patient selection and safety considerations
Advanced Laser Education Modules
The diploma also includes three advanced areas of laser practice:
Level 5 Laser Tattoo Removal (60 CPD/CME points)
Advanced study of tattoo ink interaction, treatment planning, and safe removal strategies using modern laser systems.
Level 5 Vascular Lesion Treatments (60 CPD/CME points)
Education on laser and IPL treatment of vascular concerns such as thread veins and superficial vascular lesions.
Level 6 Fractional Water Absorption Lasers (60 CPD/CME points)
Advanced laser technologies used for skin resurfacing, collagen stimulation and skin rejuvenation.
The KWLE Diploma
Upon successful completion of the programme, students are awarded the:

This diploma demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of both foundational laser science and advanced clinical laser applications.
The full diploma programme is available for £1895 and includes:
- Access to all diploma laser education modules
• 360 CPD / CME points
• Two-year membership with KWLE
Upgrade Pathway for Existing Level 4 Practitioners
Practitioners who already hold a Level 4 in Laser and IPL (such as VTCT or equivalent) may access an upgrade pathway into the diploma, successful completion of our Core of Knowledge course is also a requirement.
This upgrade package focuses on the advanced laser education modules, allowing experienced practitioners to expand their clinical knowledge and treatment scope.
The upgrade pathway includes education in:
- Laser Tattoo Removal
• Vascular Lesion Treatments
• Fractional Water Absorption Lasers

Academic Progression
Students who successfully complete the diploma may have the opportunity to fast-track into the Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Lasers, delivered in partnership with Greater Manchester University.
